A Psalm 18:16-24 Prayer

Updated: Nov 11, 2023

"But me he caught—reached all the way from sky to sea; he pulled me out of that ocean of hate, that enemy chaos, the void in which I was drowning. They hit me when I was down, but God stuck by me. He stood me up on a wide-open field; I stood there saved—surprised to be loved!
God made my life complete when I placed all the pieces before him. When I got my act together, he gave me a fresh start. Now I’m alert to God’s ways; I don’t take God for granted. Every day I review the ways he works; I try not to miss a trick. I feel put back together, and I’m watching my step. God rewrote the text of my life when I opened the book of my heart to his eyes."
--Psalm 18:16-24 (MSG)--

Heavenly Father, thank you for loving me so much that you would reach down and pull me out of my situation. God, you truly are so, so good! There are days when I feel like I'm drowning in a sea of darkness, and I'm getting hit from every angle to go deeper, but You, O God, stuck by me. You reached for me, and I held onto your hand. You placed me on solid ground and in a wide-open field. I'm amazed how loved I am by You!

Lord God, in all my brokenness I have placed every piece before you, and you made my life complete. No one else can do that but You! You have given me a fresh start, and I will not only work to keep myself together, but I will also be alert to all of Your ways and I will not take You for granted again. Thank you, Lord, for never giving up on me.

Father, help me to stay alert, to see the way You are working, and to not miss anything that is of You. Thank you for helping me out of the depths I was in because of the choices of others but also because of the choices of what I allowed in my life. Thank you for taking my broken pieces and putting me back together with love. I'm watching my steps so that I do not fall back into the pit. I give you my heart. Rewrite the text of my life from this day forward. Let all who see my life, see You, O Lord. Amen.
