“I will exalt you, Lord, because you have lifted me up
and have not allowed my enemies to triumph over me.
Lord my God, I cried to you for help, and you healed me.
Lord, you brought me up from Sheol; you spared me from among those going down to the Pit.
Sing to the Lord, you his faithful ones, and praise his holy name.
For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor, a lifetime.
Weeping may stay overnight, but there is joy in the morning.
When I was secure, I said, “I will never be shaken.”
Lord, when you showed your favor, you made me stand like a strong mountain;
when you hid your face, I was terrified. Lord,
I called to you; I sought favor from my Lord: “
What gain is there in my death, if I go down to the Pit?
Will the dust praise you? Will it proclaim your truth?
Lord, listen and be gracious to me; Lord, be my helper.”
You turned my lament into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, so that I can sing to you and not be silent.
Lord my God, I will praise you forever.”
Psalms 30:1-12 CSB
Lord my God, I exalt You! I praise You! Your are so good to me. You have lifted me up at the most essential moment. You have not allowed my enemies to triumph over me; instead, You have given me the victory. And truly, You are my victory. Thank you, Lord, for hearing my heart and healing my heart.
Thank you for reaching down and rescuing me from the pit before it caved in on me. Thank you for choosing me to be spared. I will tell all your faithful ones to sing your praises, to lift up your holy name. For you, Lord, are love. Your anger lasts only a moment when I've chosen something other than you. Your favor, though, lasts a lifetime, and I am so humbled by it and so grateful for it.
How often has weeping lasted through the night? But when I wake in the newness of the morning, there is joy. Glory to you, O God! I will never be shaken! With your favor, Lord, I can stand strong like a mountain. Help me to stay in your favor because when I was in the pit, I was terrified. I could not see your face. That's when I called to you. I sought your favor. I knew I was wrong, and I knew I was without You.
You heard me. You came to me because You had never left me. You turned my sorrow into dancing. You removed my shame and clothed me with gladness. So, I will forever sing to You. I will not be silent. I will not hide my love for You. O Lord, my God, I belong to you and I will praise you forever! Amen.
