"O Lord, let me not be put to shame, for I call upon you;
let the wicked be put to shame; let them go silently to Sheol.
Let the lying lips be mute, which speak insolently against the righteous
in pride and contempt. Oh, how abundant is your goodness,
which you have stored up for those who fear you
and worked for those who take refuge in you, in the sight of the children of mankind!
In the cover of your presence you hide them from the plots of men;
you store them in your shelter from the strife of tongues.
Blessed be the Lord, for he has wondrously shown his steadfast love to me
when I was in a besieged city. I had said in my alarm, “I am cut off from your sight.”
But you heard the voice of my pleas for mercy when I cried to you for help.
Love the Lord, all you his saints! The Lord preserves the faithful
but abundantly repays the one who acts in pride.
Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord!"
Psalm 31: 17-24 ESV
O Lord, I call upon you that I may not be put to shame. For You, God, are holy and most high. Let the wicked, instead, be put to shame. Remove evil and replace it with Your goodness. Let not lying lips be heard; silence all voices who speak against the righteous. Let your truths be known and your goodness be abundant for all those who fear You and take refuge in You.
In Your presence, Lord, there is protection. Keep my covered today, especially from those who plot to do evil. Shelter me from the lies of the enemy. Blessed be You, Lord, for your steadfast love. Thank you for wondrously showing me this love each and every day. Thank you for hearing my voice when I cry to you for help. Thank you for your mercy and grace.
I love you, Lord. You are a good God, a faithful God. Praise be to you for preserving my life and for giving me strength as I wait on You. My heart is full of courage because of Who You are and because I am not alone. Glory be to Your Name. Amen.
