Certain in Seeing What We Cannot

"Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see."
Hebrews 11:1

If you had every question about your life answered, would you need faith? What about if everything good was going on and blessings were pouring down on your life? Would you need faith if you knew every detail about your future? I know, I know rhetorical questions. Faith amid uncertainty is when it's most needed, but faith is not just for when we are uncertain and when we cannot see what God is doing or what He wants us to be doing. Faith is also for those moments of certainty.

Without faith we wouldn't appreciate the moments when everything comes together. It's those moments when we can see the hope we had through faith come into fruition. "Faith shows the reality of what we hope for." (Hebrews 11:1) Joy moments happen because of faith. And because of faith, we can recognize and see God's faithfulness. Faith is seeing what we cannot and seeing a God who can.

With all the uncertainties in life, we can be certain we have a God who loves us. Christ on the cross is proof of that love. God is good. He is faithful, powerful, forgiving, righteous, and holy. Take time to get to know Him more by reading His Word this weekend. As you read, look for answers to this question: "Who is God?" and record those answers in a journal.

We can have a certain kind of faith in what we cannot see because our God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow (Hebrews 13:8). Joy moments await for those who hope in the Lord. Take the uncertainties of life and make them certain with your faith in a faithful God.

Lord, help me to continue to trust You when I do not understand, to have faith in uncertainty, and to hope when I cannot see what You're doing. Forgive me for lacking faith; help me to grow. I long for Your promises, and I long for You. Thank you for all the joy moments You've blessed me with, especially the salvation I have in Jesus Christ. I praise You and adore You, Amen.
