A Psalm 86:10-17 Prayer

Updated: Mar 10

“For you are great and do marvelous deeds; you alone are God.
Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness;
give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.
I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart;
I will glorify your name forever. For great is your love toward me;
you have delivered me from the depths, from the realm of the dead.
Arrogant foes are attacking me, O God;
ruthless people are trying to kill me—they have no regard for you.
But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God,
slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.
Turn to me and have mercy on me; show your strength in behalf of your servant;
save me, because I serve you just as my mother did.
Give me a sign of your goodness, that my enemies may see it and be put to shame,
for you, Lord, have helped me and comforted me.”
Psalm 86:10-17 NIV

O God, You are so great and the deeds You do are so marvelous! Teach me Your way, Lord, as it is the only way I want to go, for it is in that way that You reveal Your faithfulness and it is the only way to walk in Your Truth. Give me an undivided heart that I may fear Your name and focus on You only.

I will praise You, Lord my God, with all of my heart. I will glorify You forever. For great is Your name and great is Your love toward me. I am truly grateful. You have delivered me from the depths, from the realm of the dead, and You have given me new life.

Look and see, Lord God, the foes that are attacking me. They have no regard for You. They are trying to take me down and back to the depths. But You, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God. You are slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness. I look to You. Turn to me and have mercy. Show Your incredible strength on behalf of Your servant. Save me! Give me a sign this week of Your goodness that my enemies may see it and be put to shame. O Lord Almighty, You will help me, for have helped me and comforted me. Praise be to Your name! Amen.
